Vision

WOASA is a mouthpiece of a vibrant organisation that actively emancipates and protects the used / waste oil collectors and the interests of its members.

WOASA strives to have a significant SUSTAINABLE SOCIO-ECONOMIC impact in terms of:

Goals

To actively promote and pursue green enterprise developments activities which inter-alia will include, storage, processing and compliance  and also use , and other economic activities which will be of the benefit of its members.

To assist in the provision of appropriate skills including infrastructure setups, better value chain participation, stakeholder relationship that includes, traffic officers; various government departments;  sharing with other industry players; territory management and governance

To assist in the training and development of its members in acquiring appropriate managerial , technical and other skills to enable them to be productive and develop others

To provide and promote a healthy environment for social upliftment of all its members including creating projects relating to job creation, poverty alleviation and socio-economic development

To enter into agreements, grants, enter into participation agreements that will be of benefit to all the members of the Association

To liaise and work with the Department or any other organ of state in the acquisition and development of their business

To invest and/or participate in any business or other commercial ventures that will benefit all members of the Association

Overview & KEY CHALLENGES

350 million litres of new lubricant oil is sold in South Africa every year. This new oil is a combination of locally manufactured, as well as imported lubes. Of all the oil that is sold, approximately 150 million litres become used oil, of which 120 million litres is collectable for recycling. Retrieving and recycling this product has proved to be a lucrative enterprise that creates a circular economy and protects the environment
